MEET THE FOUNDER |

KIM HENDERSON

As a Trinidadian born native, Kim was raised in Brooklyn NY after immigrating to America at the age of 5 years old. She was raised by a mother who worked two jobs to ensure that her children had everything they would need, even if that meant foregoing food or shopping at goodwill for her own clothes. Kim at the age of 13 years old, found her purpose when her mother became hospitalized as a result of complications due to uncontrolled bleeding. It was during that time, through her mother’s example, Kim realized the importance of power, strength, and resilience of someone determined to live and succeed despite what life throws their way. She knew that helping families and women to recognize their resilience and strength was going to be apart of her life purpose.

To prepare herself for her life’s work, Kim attended the University of Connecticut where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She later earned a Masters in Social Work from New York University (NYU). It was at NYU where Kim developed a passion for also working with individuals in the area of grief, loss and bereavement. She was selected to be a fellow in the nationally recognized Zelda Foster Studies in Palliative and End-of-Life-Care Leadership program, where she has learned the skills needed to work with this population. Kim is a Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Transformational Life Coach.

In addition to this,

Kim served as a youth leader at Dabar Bethlehem Cathedral, where she provides mentorship, guidance, counseling (individual & group), crisis intervention, and advocacy for youth between the ages of 13-20 and women ages 21-30. This arena has afforded Kim the opportunity to educate and share motivational messaging not only to youth but to a larger audience.

Kim’s passion to empower women, and provide comfort, support and encouragement to help them succeed led her to establish Woman Unbreakable in 2018. Woman Unbreakable promotes healing and self-growth through the belief that women are valuable no matter what experiences they have had in their lives. Woman Unbreakable aims to provide support through dynamic events, online engagement, community service initiatives and building healthy connections amongst women.

Kim has been featured in publications such as Voyage Atlanta, she has spoken on various platforms and her journey with Woman Unbreakable has only just begun. Through her belief in God and the support of her husband and loved ones, Kim, is determined to make sure that anyone who comes into her life knows that they have a purpose.
